If I needed a blower, I'd probably get the M18. Consumer Reports incorrectly categorizes the M12 as a leaf blower, but it's a tiny little jobsite blower, not a leaf blower and shouldn't be compared to them for that task.
But they still seem like a deal if you need the batteries and/or tools (I assume that most folks who've gotten M12 deals already have several chargers and cases and don't really need more of them). I've read mixed reviews, some that say it's not good for even dry leaves, others yes, even wet leaves, so long as you're not clearing a large yard. We have a small front yard with lots of planters and bushes that we need to clear each fall and spring, and in-between now and then, and it's getting annoying doing it by hand and rake, so this just might be ideal for that. I've actually used one of those small computer air blowers for spot clearing like under the car when working on it, and it's worked pretty well for that, so I'm guessing that this will be an improvement on that. I'll probably get one and if it's not good enough I'll just return it.
